 Opioid Response

In 2019 there were 3 fatal overdoses and 14 successful administrations of Narcan.  In 2020 there were 6 overdose fatalities and 14 successful administrations of Narcan.

According to a 2019 interview with former White House drug policy advisor Dr. Keith Humphreys, we are combatting 3 epidemics in 1.

          Prescription opiates

         Heroin

         Synthetic opioids

RI has one of the most comprehensive treatment programs for inmates in the country: providing access to treatment and medications while incarcerated, insurance, and directing to treatment programs after sentences have been served.

Though progress has been made, the West Warwick Police Department continues to be dedicated to addressing the epidemic.

If you or someone you know needs assistance with opioid use or any other substance use disorder, please contact one of the resources below.
